Dallas Wins Game 7 to Advance

Washington's Free Throws Seal Victory

Dallas, TX - The Dallas Mavericks defeated the Oklahoma City Thunder 117-116 in Game 7 of the Western Conference semifinals on Tuesday night to advance to the Western Conference finals. Maxi Kleber made a go-ahead layup with 40 seconds remaining, and Spencer Dinwiddie hit 1-of-2 free throws with 9.1 seconds left to seal the victory.

Luka Doncic led the Mavericks with 28 points, 9 rebounds, and 7 assists. Kleber added 13 points, and Dinwiddie contributed 12 points off the bench. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the Thunder with 34 points, and Josh Giddey added 21 points.

The Mavericks trailed by as many as 10 points in the fourth quarter, but they rallied to take the lead with 2:27 remaining on a three-pointer by Dinwiddie. The Thunder tied the game on a dunk by Gilgeous-Alexander with 1:18 remaining, but Kleber put the Mavericks back in front with his layup 22 seconds later.

The Thunder had a chance to tie the game again in the final seconds, but Giddey's three-pointer missed. Dinwiddie grabbed the rebound and was fouled by Gilgeous-Alexander, sending him to the free-throw line for the game-winning free throw.

The Mavericks will face the Phoenix Suns in the Western Conference finals, which begin on Wednesday night in Phoenix.
